Nine!

Saige is nine! A tween, as she likes to point out. Saige has always been 16 going on [insert age]. She is well past her nine years, and most people think she’s older anyway. Not just maturity. She has my growth genes (tall early). I won’t be surprised when she passes both Blaise and Laine in height in the next few years. Blaise and Laine have Brian’s growth genes; slow and steady but tall in the long run.

Saige is a great kiddos whom we look forward to watching grow each year! They say you know your kids longer as adults, and I sure hope we are doing it right enough that they stick around in our lives as adults. I can’t wait to see Saige and all that she accomplishes in her coming years. Until then, she’s nine!

Saige had a few friends sleep over the night before her roller skating party. There aren’t many roller rinks around here, kind of lame if my opinion matters. We booked the skating party up in Lynnwood. A bit of a drive but it was a fun party!

After the party, we celebrated at home after taking a long way home. My car battery was on death’s door and we had to jump it to leave the rink, and I drove a weird way home to try and avoid stopping too long. I don’t think this would matter once the car was jumped but the older man who helped me said to avoid stopping at lights if possible?! Brian had already left to drive a few kiddos home; we had taken two cars. In my drive home, I merged over to exit last minute and accidentally cut off a young kid. He aptly gave me the horn and middle finger, haha. I told the kids I deserved that; they were a bit taken aback because that hasn’t happened before. Actually, I don’t think I’ve been given the middle finger before. I’ve been honked at, rightly so, but never flipped off (that I know). Anyway, we made it home to celebrate Saige as a family.

Next up for Saige, double-digits!
