Hazel Wolf Wetlands

Another hike, another post. Only making this so I can keep track of the hikes we do in 2023. The thought of having to search though my rambling posts to find hikes sounds bothersome, even if they have a hiking tag.

That said, Hazel Wolf Wetlands, again. We first went back in the days of hiking with masks. This time we met friends who hadn’t been yet. It was a sunny, warm day and perfect for this one. I planned ahead and packed lunches for the kiddos to eat at the wetlands overlook deck. We had the place to ourselves, with the exception of a mama duck and her babies following her. I get that feeling, haha. Although my dad had my sister and me always walk in front of him so he could see us, and I do the same with my kids. But on the rare occasion they follow behind, I feel like a duck.

Nothing major to note. A typical weekday morning stroll on a three-year-old friendly trail (we had two three-year-olds). Which is kind of funny I cater to Maive because when Blaise and Laine were two and three, they were hiking up Cougar Mountain for four or so miles. They never complained. Having two young ones at the same time, they quickly learned to deal and that I couldn’t carry them both. I’m sure Maive could hang but having only one young one this time, I’m not even opening the door to the option of me carrying her. Shorter trails it is then.

Another hike down in 2023. And another one tomorrow, which I’ll likely get to posting about around October.
