A decade of Saige. This kid is 10 going on 17. And I don’t mean that in a bad way. Saige is mature for her age and acts years older than 10. And yet, she’s still only 10 and has moments that remind me of her actual age. Whatever her age, she’s a great human.
Saige has many qualities that are quite amazing. Like how she won’t do anything that makes anyone have a bad time. Like when we play UNO, she won’t put down a draw card because she feels bad making the next person get more cards. I also love how outgoing and friendly she is to literally everyone. Saige is our overly extroverted child, who thrives off of being around people. I still remember being at a park one day when she was maybe five? We were sitting at a picnic table, and only her siblings and I were at the park playground. Two adults walking their dog rounded the corner and Saige jumped up and exclaimed, “PEOPLE!” while running over to talk with them. I love this quality of hers and take advantage sometimes. Like when we were at Flaming Geyser State Park and this couple had bird cages on a picnic table. We were all curious. So of course we sent Saige over to ask the people what the deal was. Haha, she went no problem.
Of course there are many more qualities of Saige that I could go on and on about, but the bottom line is she’s pretty damn amazing (like all of our kids!).
On her actual birthday, we celebrated at home like usual. Dinner of her choice, followed by presents and cake. Sometimes we spice it up and do cake and then presents. But the kids are usually eager to open all the things. I don’t even remember what she got for her birthday. It was September and it’s all fuzzy. The 10-year-old was happy though, that I remember.

The 10-year-old!
Saige’s party was the Sunday after Blaise’s party Saturday night. We decided to just go for a weekend of parties since all things fall are crazy. Saige asked for a roller skating party again—she also had a roller skating party last year when she turned nine. I’m totally cool with roller skating. For one, I like roller skating. And two, it’s one of the more cost effective party places around here. The whole process was smooth. We have this down. And we especially have it down for places where we’ve partied before.
Saige has a great group of kids in her circle. Several of them she’s know for years, like she met them back when she was three. It’s fun to watch them all grow up and mature together. And to watch the friendships develop. It was a fun party and I think everyone had a good time. Even most of the parents skated, which is a nice bonus to having a skating party. Overall, a success!

Party time!
